Service History
Prinz Eugen accompanied Bismarck on her famous 1941 Atlantic sortie and helped sink HMS Hood. When Bismarck was pursued, Prinz Eugen slipped away to safety.
She later took part in the daring "Channel Dash" past British defenses and operated in the Baltic supporting German land forces. One of the few major German warships to survive the war, she was surrendered and ultimately sunk in postwar atomic bomb tests.
