Service History

When commissioned, Fubuki was so advanced that she rendered every other destroyer in the world obsolete, combining heavy enclosed gun turrets with powerful torpedo armament on a seaworthy hull.

She fought in the East Indies and Solomon Islands campaigns before being sunk by American gunfire at the Battle of Cape Esperance off Guadalcanal in 1942.
